Angel Locsin calls for everyone to "Be kind and thank a teacher" this national Teachers month!
The pandemic has brought such a hard and unprecedented time to everyone. It has affected the economy, employment rate in the country and more so, education. Because of the uncertainties brought upon by the pandemic, earlier this year, school year has been pushed back but as the year is nearing its end, some schools already started the school year this month through blended, modular, and distance learning.
This set-up is certainly not easy for the students nor their parents so does for the educators. Stories of how a student and a teacher cope in these trying times is all over the internet. In a recent news, we read about Mr. Joneil Deo Destreza, an educator who walked for 4 hours to enroll his students in remote areas in Sitio Kinalakan at Barangay Ipag, Mariveles, Bataan. His story is just one of the many educators who goes above and beyond what's expected of them for their students in this time of pandemic.
Recognizing the challenges teachers are experiencing right now and to commemorate national teachers month, Angel Locsin on her twitter account called for everyone to "Be kind and thank a teacher".
On the replies of the said tweet, students began tagging their teachers with sweet thank you messages. Other educators thank Angel Locsin for appreciating their efforts, Maricar Sanchez wrote "Thank you for message. I am an educator. It's double work for us during online learning but it's our passion to teach in our learners."
"I'm a teacher for two years.. Wow! Thank you for appreciating our efforts Queen @143redangel So much Lovvveeee" @iamTEEnhor27
"Thank you, my idol @143redangel Hindi talaga madali ang sitwasyon pero dahil mahal namin ang aming profession at mga estudyante ay patuloy kaming lumalaban. Salamat sa suporta." @grindqueen_22
It's national teachers month, don't forget to be kind and thank a teacher!
