Mayor Vico Sotto thanked Angel Locsin, Anne Curtis for their P1M donation to Pasig
"Dinonate nila ito walang fanfare, walang media. Ni hindi nga kami nagkita. Iniwan lang nila 'yung tseke," Mayor Vico Sotto said in a Facebook live video thanking Kapamilya actresses Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis for donating P1 million to help the city's COVID-19 response. On the video, the city mayor also noted that it was done without fanfare, “Ni hindi nga kami nagkita. Iniwan lang nila 'yung tseke.”
Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis earlier raised some P6 million through a celebrity auction, their decade old project ‘Shop and Share’ to help the government in extending more COVID-19 tests to underprivileged Filipinos who need to be tested during this global crisis. The initiative started in 2009 to help the families affected by Typhoon Ondoy. It’s proceeds were donated to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and 5 local governments, including Pasig City.
"Thank you sa lahat nang tumutulong, nagmamalasakit, alam ko man o hindi," Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto also added. (Thank you to all those who helped, who showed care, whether or not I was aware of it.)
The young mayor said that the donation from Angel and Anne will be used to buy more COVID-19 vaccines. "Idadagdag po natin 'yan sa vaccination fund natin.”
Other local governments who received P1 million each from Curtis and Locsin's "Shop and Share" initiative were the local governments of Manila, Baguio, Taguig and Quezon City.
