Angel Locsin ranks 9th on Pep.ph's Greatest Movie Actresses in a Leading Roles, 2000-2020!
Angel Locsin first appeared on the big screen way back 2000 in Ping Lacson Supercop as young Robina Gokongwei credited as Angelica Colmenares. She did not hold a leading role until her breakout role Mulawin. Since then, she has been a fan favorite both on the big screen and on TV. She starred in the teen oriented movie Kuya in 2004 as well as in the comedy film Singles.
Mulawin is definitely one of Angel Locsin's stepping stones to stardom. Her partnership with Richard Gutierrez became a total hit! They starred in not just one but 5 movies in just a span of 3 years!
From making romantic movies, Angel Locsin's dynamics totally changed when she decided to take a leap on her career and transferred to Kapamilya network. She took on roles that are more conflicted and with more complicated storylines. From her first ever movie under Starcinema to her latest movie The Third Party, the actress has gained numerous acting awards from notable award giving bodies locally and internationally.
Recognizing her enormous talent and versatility, Philippine Entertainment Portal (Pep.ph) listed Angel Locsin as the 9th Greatest Movie Actress in Leading Roles from 2000 to 2020. The list honors Philippine cinema's most talented, most accomplished, most exciting actresses of the last two decades.
Angel Locsin has done so much both on the big screen and on TV. Unlike other movie stars, the actress starred in a few carefully chosen roles that made a mark and is still well-remembered years later. Some of her roles that stand-out are Grace in One More Try, Cedes in In The Name of Love, and Alex in Four Sisters and A Wedding among others.
Joining Angel Locsin on the said list are Angelica Panganiban at no. 10; Ai-Ai delas Alas, No. 8; Sharon Cuneta, No. 7; Eugene Domingo, No. 6; Jaclyn Jose, No. 5; Maricel Soriano, No. 4; Claudine Barretto, No. 3; Judy Ann Santos, No. 2; and on No. 1 is none other than Ms. Vilma Santos.
