Shabu worth P1.3 seized in Cotabato City

Anti-narcotics operatives arrested an alleged high-value drug peddler who was caught selling 200 grams of shabu worth P1.3 million in Cotabato City last Wednesday.

In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao said the suspect identified as Najer Arumpac, also known as “Supremo,” 26, was arrested on Jose Lim Street during a buy-bust operation.

44 Badjaos trained in carpentry, masonry

The Surigao City Information Office said 44 Badjaos have started a 20-day skill training in carpentry and masonry.

The news release said the training was supported by the Department of Labor and Employment and started with a one-day orientation in Sitio Panubigon, Barangay Sabang.

It said the Badjaos will receive P385 daily wage or a total of P5,775 after 15 days of work. (Froilan Gallardo/MindaNews)

Farm workers trained in anti-ASF measures

The Department of Agriculture Training Institute in Region 11 has intensified the training among farm workers to prevent another outbreak of the African Swine Fever (ASF).

DA Senior Agriculturist Dr. Omarbliss Dalam said the training includes learning biosecurity measures and symptoms of infected hogs, to prevent the spread of the disease.The DA reported that the infection status for 17 towns in Region 11 has been lowered to yellow after signs that the hogs are recovering from ASF.
