Woman reported missing in Davao returns home after 5 days
DAVAO CITY (MindaNews / 11 Dec) – A woman who was tagged as missing for five days was not kidnapped and already returned home safely, the Davao City Police Office said.
In a message to the media via Facebook Messenger Tuesday morning, DCPO spokesperson Hazel Tuazon said that Abegail Ador Go, 30, a resident of Blk 7, Lot 14, Emilia Homes, Brgy Cabantian here, went home safely and was not kidnapped, contrary to the comments in a now-deleted social media post dated Dec. 5 announcing Go being missing.
“Niuli na ni cya sa ilang balay ganinang 2 a.m. po (Go went back to her home around 2 a.m.),” Tuazon told the media Tuesday morning.
The spokesperson added that as of 7 a.m. Tuesday, Go had safely gone back home but will not entertain any queries for now.
Before Go reportedly went back home, Tuazon said that Go’s husband, Paul Simon Ortiz Go, went to Buhangin Police Station, reporting that his wife failed to return to their house last Dec. 6.
The husband said that his wife went to a mall located at J.P. Laurel Ave. in this city to meet with her best friend identified as April Reycan delos Reyes around 2 p.m. of Dec. 5.
According to a spot report, Delos Reyes dropped her friend near a convenience store along Cabantian Road.
With the help of the police station’s staff, a follow-up investigation was carried out to search for places the missing person might have gone.
Tuazon said that her family was also involved in finding Go through staying in regular contact with her and urging her to come back home.
“Information provided by concerned citizens of Davao City significantly contributed to the successful recovery of the missing person,” Tuazon said.
Meanwhile, Delos Reyes, who posted Go’s missing announcement, said through another Facebook post Tuesday afternoon asking “for understanding and respect as we ensure Abby’s well-being. Let us give the family the space they need for now.” (Ian Carl Espinosa / MindaNews)
