TURNING POINT: Minimalism

Column Titles 2023 20230815 170141 0000

NAAWAN, Misamis Oriental (MindaNews / 30 Dec) – Adopting minimalism as a way of life may save the planet and us from useless complications.

Minimalism is living small and simple.

Minimalism means living in a house, the size and amount of space is sufficient to the number of occupants and, perhaps, for a transient guest or two. There are no extra rooms and amenities that are of no use to the owner, which would only gather dust and use up power to maintain.

Minimalism is to adorn the dwelling place with nothing else but self-made décor and homegrown plants and flowers.

Minimalism is eating the food we need not what we or others crave.

Minimalism means we only buy and possess things we need not the things we want. A minimalist refrains from hauling cheap appliances, furniture, and clothing from surplus shops, the kind of which he already has at home.

Minimalism is to discard useless possessions and unclutter one’s life of demanding and meaningless relationships.

It is walking or biking, and only by extreme necessity, would a minimalist take a ride to a destination to save on gas, minimize atmospheric pollution, and add no more to the traffic jam.

Minimalism is a life of relative independence, simplicity, and ease.

Less is beautiful.

Wishing you a happy minimalist New Year 2025!
